Why Should I Get an Ultrasound?
Find out why having an ultrasound is important before going through with your abortion.
We are for you to answer some of those questions you might want have like: What can an ultrasound tell me? When can I get an ultrasound?
.
.
We receive calls from girls who are planning to have an abortion. We still recommend they come for an ultrasound, here’s why:
An ultrasound can tell you: if there is a growing pregnancy, or not. If the pregnancy is in the uterus, if there is a fetal heartbeat and about how far along the pregnancy is.
We also get asked what kind of ultrasounds we do at Crossroads?
At Crossroads we have licensed sonographers who do both abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds. Transvaginal ultrasounds allow the sonographer to detect early pregnancies.
When can I get an ultrasound at Crossroads?
At Crossroads , we will do am ultrasound for you after one of our registered nurses confirms your pregnancy with a medical grade pregnancy test OR we will do an ultrasound if you have “proof of pregnancy” document from Planned Parenthood, a medical provider, or the emergency room.
Here’s what to expect at your ultrasound appointment:
You have the choice to bring your partner or another supporting person with you, OR you may come by yourself.
You have the choice of whether you would like to watch the live ultrasound images as the scan is being preformed, OR not watch the live ultrasound images as the scan is being preformed.
You have the choice of receiving print-outs of the still ultrasound images, OR not to receive any print-outs of the still ultrasound images.
You have the choice at the time of your ultrasound, if the sonographer establishes that you are much earlier in your pregnancy than you thought, and she cannot confirm a uterine pregnancy, for the nurse to schedule you for a repeat ultrasound the following week.
